Coal and oil are major air polluters, but there are point source polluters that are never even considered that may be nearly as bad. Think of all the clothes dryers in this country, and how many of them are running at any given time, and consider that the majority of them are spewing out toxic perfume chemicals from detergents, fabric softeners, and dryer sheets directly into the air. Nearly every neighborhood today is continually contaminated with these chemicals, and everyone living in these places is exposed constantly to them. Fragrance chemicals are made up of substances that can cause asthma and other respiratory ailments, endocrine disruptors, pesticides, and carcinogens. We are needlessly exposing ourselves and our children, not to mentioned the other creatures of the earth, to these persistent and dangerous chemicals, simply because we have been manipulated by the big corporations into believing that things are not clean unless they smell of some scent or other. This is one of the "elephants in the room", and is an issue that needs to be addressed asap. Let's strive for truly clean air by saying no to Big Chemical's lies and demanding safe, fragrance-free products!
