Regardless as to wether one believes in Global Warming or not- the fact is that coal and uranium mining, gas and oil drilling , industry air and water pollution, etc, are all very real and do have a negative impact on not only our health, but also the health of the food chain, wildlife and even soil conditions.
ENFORCED pollution regulations on all industry and energy companies are a necessary evil if we want to keep living conditions at least liveable for both man and beast on this Continent. Without any type of accounting for polluting groundwater or pumping out toxins from smokestacks, our land will truly be poisoned beyond belief. It may seem overly "treehuggerish" or "greenie" to consider this, but there is no escaping the fact that some sort of regulation is needed with all forms of industry -- even our military-- that contribute toward water and air corruption. Not all of us are able to afford a missle ticket to another planet once Earth goes to **** in a handbasket because of our sloppy way of harnessing Earth's resources!
