Inspire tomorrow’s leaders to go to “work for good!”
Net Impact - Non-Profit - http://www.netimpact.org
Millenials – sometimes known as “the hero generation” - want to solve the world’s social and environmental challenges. Yet when entering the workforce, too many of them swallow their do-gooder instincts simply because they don’t know how to translate their values into a viable career. Net Impact, along with Ashoka, the Taproot Foundation and Common Good Careers, would like to use Free Range Studios’ video expertise to reach this socially-minded generation. Help us inspire one million students to “work for good” by showing them how to put their belief in social change to work throughout the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.

More college grads can and should pursue careers that will change the world. They just need help figuring out how!

I spent last night with a group of young folks at SFMOMA discussing the future of the design industry. I was really struck by one of the comments from a student, who wondered aloud how he was going to be able to find a job that would allow him to maintain his ethics and values. Couldn't have been more timely - this generation wants nothing more than to bring their values to work with them on an everyday basis.

Everyone can and should be working for the greater good, no matter whether you're working for a nonprofit, a startup social enterprise, the government or a multinational corporation. The milliennial generation knows this instinctively, but needs affirmation to convert their instincts to action.
Net Impact, Ashoka, Taproot and Commongood Careers are four organizations that know how to provide that affirmation, and I can't imagine a cooler video than one that moves the next generation from "I guess the best I can do is recycle and donate to NPR" to "I can't conceive of spending my career in anything but the most socially and environmentally positive way imaginable" and helps point the way.
Good work is for EVERYONE!
