Soil, Soul & Tzedek
Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center - Non-Profit - www.isabellafreedman.org
We're changing the world one pickle at a time, but we need a creative and concrete way to tell people of all ages and backgrounds how they can get involved. Our programs engage people through SOIL farm-to-table programs, environmental education and green training, SOUL spiritual retreats, wellness programs and lifecycle celebrations, and TZEDEK (the Hebrew word for justice) socially responsible business-modeling, sustainable practices and global and local community-building. We're working on integrating our programs. We need your help bringing our three core concepts (soil, soul and tzedek) into one easy-to-understand and visually appealing picture.

Isabella Freedman has transformed so many peoples lives, mine included when I did the Adamah farming program. They foster a community of amazing healers, activists, spiritual-seekers, and leaders for the Jewish community and beyond. They have incredible business integrity and care about the people who support them. I think they seriously have bestowed so many blessings upon the Jewish community in America.

Adamah is uniquely engaging some of the best and brightest young Jewish leaders, bringing them together to create new venues for inspiration. Aside from the tremendous resources it provides to nourish mind, body and spirit, Adamah is a catalyst for new ideas to sustain the wider Jewish community. Rock on.

The hope, inspiration and community that Isabella Freedman generates is a *gift* in the world. All it'll take for more people to receive its magic is to learn of it!

Isabella Freedman is a very special place to me. Their Adamah fellowship changed my life for the better and helped me find my career path. Their programs are inspiring and moving and reach out to Jews from a wide range of backgrounds. It is truly a place that fosters new ideas and provides leadership training for a growing community of people that want to create a difference in this world and do Tikkun Olam.

THANKS!

Above all else, Isabella Freedman has helped me to stop theorizing a kind of Judaism that doesn't make sense to me and start practicing a kind of Judaism that does. It has evolved my awareness and responsibility for environmental and social issues; it has taught me to grow and process my own food; it has provided me with richer communication skills; and it has introduced me to forms of Jewish prayer, study, and ritual which continue to lead me to a deeper integration of body, mind and spirit.

I am continually impressed by the beneficial services that Isabella Friedman Jewish Retreat Center offers to young people, and all kinds of people. While excelling in spiritual education, IFJRC also provides an important model in how a community can maximize protection and nurturance of the environment, while having fun.

I have been to Isabella Freedman for several Jewish holiday retreats, for a yoga and Jewish Spirituality training, davenning leadership retreats-- and am thinking now about a week-long mediation retreat. Each time I have been there, I have found peace, joy, companionship, good food, and beautiful surroundings, and I've left with uplifted spirit. Who could ask for more?

IFC is more than a place. There´s a commitment to 'repair' the world, through the hearts and souls. Everyone can find enough room to develop and soar. I've been there twice and hopefully will return many times. And I don't live even close. It's a 12 hour flight. Worth each second ...

When I first came to IF over three years ago (intending to be here for a three month internship) and declared this place "JEWtopia" - I had no idea how IF contributes to the leading edge of creative culture in and beyond the Jewish world. Now that I have a better idea of how essential IF's mission is to the transformation of our world for the better, I'm grateful to YOUtopia for the opportunity to better share our mission with the world!
