World Social Forum 2.0
Social Watch - Non-Profit - www.forumsocialmundial.org.br (main) + various others (www.wsftv.net, www.worldsocialforum.info)
The World Social Forum is an open meeting place where social movements, activists networks, NGOs and other civil society organizations come together to debate and share ideas democratically, to formulate proposals, create alliances and network for effective action for "another world is possible" (the slogan of the WSF). Since the first world encounter in 2001 (Porto Alegre, Brasil), it has taken the form of a permanent world process building alternatives to neo-liberal policies in many countries all over the world. The 2003 worldwide antiwar demonstration was launched by the WSF. And the climate justice, the campaigns for public water and many others have been a result of the WSF coalition building. After 10 years, it is time to re-think and update the communication strategies and to have a more immediate way to reach out and be recognizable - and Free Range can help make a leap and address the use of the internet and other communication means, with a stronger identity.
