After 45 years developing unique and effective techniques for community involvement in theater, John O'Neal, founder of Junebug Productions, co-founder of the Free Southern Theater is retiring. Techniques, methodologies and aesthetics he developed over these years are at risk of being lost to future generations. Junebug has created the Free Southern Theater Institute to codify those techniques, ethics, and aesthetics so Artists, Activists and Educators from around the world can come to New Orleans, learn the FST and JPI technique and work with the local community and artists. All we need now is a multimedia strategy to get us there.
