Dodging Pollution: An Underdog Story
Earthjustice - Non-Profit - www.earthjustice.org
Some of the worst air polluters have dodged controls for decades, pumping dirty air that makes playing outside a dangerous game for kids across the U.S. Though 2011 brings unprecedented opportunities to clean up these polluters, only public pressure can counteract the polluter lobby's influence. A humorous video can help: in a dodgeball game between kids and pollution, large men dressed as mercury, soot, and other pollutants hurl dodgeballs labeled with diseases (e.g. asthma ) while kids counter with balls marked "health" and "clean air". The message: join the kids' team to ensure dirty industries don't dodge clean air rules again.

Kids (and everyone else, for that matter) need clean air. Sadly, businesses will do what they can get away with in order to maximize their bottom line so having attorneys on the side of clean air for a change is a breath of fresh air.

The environment needs an advocate to take on the powers that be, whether they are corporations, the government or organizations run by the elite. Earttjustice is that advocate.

Time to clean up the environment & get on with our lives. There's no escaping it, & delay is costly & dangerous.

I marvel in the fact that Earthjustice not only talks about the many things that disrupt our planets well being, they act upon these issues; a very powerful thing. I also love the fact that they are a much bigger organization, and take action against whaling and shark finning, both issues I am very passionate about. Good work Earthjustice, and keep the balls rolling.

We have good environmental laws (TSCA and others could be strengthened) if they are just enforced, enforced, enforced. Let's hold big business accountable for their polluting.

We are told to clean up our act in the home. Big business needs to clena up their act even more. It is time that they stop the fear mongoring so that they can keep exorbitant profits. If they want profits the future is in coming clean.

Most of us, "the public" have tried to be more knowlegeable, and to avoid what we do to pollute the air and water etc. The companies who do not seem to care what they do with their waste and pollute carelessly have not gotten the message that we all are in this together...for better or for worse. I do not appreciate the dangerous practices. We need to legislate to be responsible citizens of the world! Too bad it doesn't come naturally.

We need to get rid of the polluters, not just fine them. That doesn't help anything, the money they make, they don't care to pay a fine. We need to focus on clean air stratagy..
