The Society plans to launch legal action to stop the South Fraser Perimeter Road because of the negative impacts on people, wildlife and the potential destruction of Burns Bog, the "lungs of the lower mainland". The Bog is a huge carbon sink that stores carbon, produces oxygen and houses rare and endangered animals. The road is in the wrong place. It goes through farmland, destroys creeks and heritage homes. We finally found a lawyer willing to help. We need money to carry out the legal action.
