Dodging Pollution: An Underdog Story

Earthjustice - Non-Profit - www.earthjustice.org

Some of the worst air polluters have dodged controls for decades, pumping dirty air that makes playing outside a dangerous game for kids across the U.S. Though 2011 brings unprecedented opportunities to clean up these polluters, only public pressure can counteract the polluter lobby's influence. A humorous video can help: in a dodgeball game between kids and pollution, large men dressed as mercury, soot, and other pollutants hurl dodgeballs labeled with diseases (e.g. asthma ) while kids counter with balls marked "health" and "clean air". The message: join the kids' team to ensure dirty industries don't dodge clean air rules again.

The work done by Earth Justice is excellent and is sorely needed as we need to protect our environment before it is too late and any effort at that time is too late, too fultile and would be fruitless.

It is necessary to for pollution to STOP now.!! The thought of what kind of polluted air my grand chldren and great grand children are going to have to breathe and the polluted water they are going to have to drink horrifies me. Pollution must stop now. Is there going to be a food-chain any longer or is pollution going to wipe it out?

More kids than ever now have asthma-hack, hack, hack, Asthma kills- air pollution aggravates asthma. How can one justify this? Corporate profits over humanity's health? I hope not for everyone's sake!

Everything on our planet needs clean air but only people have caused our current polluted air. It's up to us to clean it up--now! We are killing life as we know it by not acting.

If we don't start now cleaning up our planet, it may be too late to do anything about it! Something must be done about the lobbyists so we can save our environment. The pollution is alread affectling our citizens and causing pain and death.

Pollution affects our health. Life is more important than profit including the health of our planet.

We can see the soot in the air, those of us living in southwestern urban centers feel it in our lungs when we run, asthma is rampant, how much worse does it have to get? It's time to stop pumping pollutants into our atmosphere and start making responsible choices for clean air.

Protecting and improving our environment should be at the top of everyone's list of priorities, and Earthjustice wins all my votes for doing everything possible.
